The Dallas Diocesan Council of Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides a variety of programs and services.
Currently 1.1 million men, women and juveniles are under some form of correctional supervision in the State of Texas. Many will be released, only to re-offend and return. Most are non-violent and need treatment, but do not get it. 1
Through our Prison Ministry, Oasis of Justice, comprehensive programs are in place to provide a safety net for this most underserved population.
Oasis of Justice services include:
DePaul House
- Transitional House for men ages 18 – 65 recovering from alcohol addiction
- Case Management and Counseling to transition clients back into the community
JAMS
- A 12 Step Life Skills and Mentoring Program for juveniles recently released and on parole from the Texas Youth Commission (TYC)
- Sponsorship for TYC youth in need of food, medicine, school supplies and other necessities
Other Oasis of Justice services:
- Letter writing services for clients who are currently incarcerated so that they may reconnect with their families and the outside world
- Spiritual support for those who are incarcerated through our rosary mail outs to clients who request this service
