Gift Planning Options

Supporting SVdP can be simple, smart, and deeply meaningful. Whether you're planning for the future or looking for tax-savvy ways to give today, here are some flexible options to consider:

Easy Ways to Make a Lasting Impact

Giving Through your Retirement Plan

Your retirement savings can become a powerful tool for generosity.

  • Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD):
If you're age 70½ or older, you can donate up to $111,000 annually (2025) from your IRA directly to SVdP—tax-free. This gift counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and reduces your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI).
  • Legacy IRA Transfer:
Under the SECURE 2.0 Act, individuals 70½ and older may make a one-time, tax-free gift of up to $55,000 from an IRA to fund a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust benefiting SVdP.
  • Beneficiary Designation:
At any age, you can name SVdP as a beneficiary of your retirement accounts. This is a tax-efficient way to leave a legacy, as retirement assets passed to heirs are subject to income tax—but gifts to charities are not.
Bequests From Your Will or Living Trust

Leave a legacy of compassion by including SVdP  in your estate plans.

  • Your estate may qualify for a charitable deduction, reducing potential estate taxes.
  • Bequest Overview
Life Insurance Gifts

Turn your policy into a gift that keeps giving.

  • You can assign a whole life insurance policy to and name the Society as the beneficiary.
  • In many cases, you’ll receive a tax deduction for premiums you've paid.
